New Firefox 4 Extension Release! F1 Social Tool by Mozilla Labs.
The new f1 social tool is a good concept but needs a little bit more work. I know it’s brand new, but I am sure we will see great improvements fast! The options as of now are limited to 6 services but more will come soon enough. Mozilla F1 automatically connects to account so posting is really a breeze. One problem is it keeps forgetting my account! I have to go through setup every time I use f1. I think I will wait for improvements before I use this one again. F1 is a brand new browser extension that allows you to share web links in a fast and easy. Share links from within your browser window, from any web page or site. Choose from six popular services you already know and love. The Mozilla F1 extension is made by Mozilla Messaging for FireFox 4.

How to speed up your WordPress Blog! Search Engine Optimization (SEO Basics), plus increase page loading times by dumping plugins, using caching, CDN, shrinking images, combining Java Script CSS files and more! W3 Total Cache plugin will handle most of these issues and cut down on mutiple plugin use. Here is how you do it and some tips and other tools that can help!
SEO Factors, How to speed up wordpress
1) Remove Database Access, PHP Queries. Removing avoidable php queries will lessen your server load a good bit. It is also and additional feature to makes your site faster.
2) Remove Old or Inactive Plug-ins: Check for any plug ins that you have activated but not using, these can eat up a lot of resources! So delete those plugins which are not needed or active! I have tested it makes a difference.
3) Use Content Delivery Network or (CDN). Using a CDN network will improve your sites response time by a ton! Just install the plugin of your choice and activate it. I use W3 Total Cache, once again can help to rewrite the JavaScripts, CSS, images for you. You can also exclude or include the files.
4) Use Caching and Improve Load Time. I use W3 Total Cache. It does it all! Cutting down on plugins needed to run your site making your blog even faster! My #1 favorite plug-in of all time! It replace 4 or 5 different plugins.
5) Compress CSS Code, Minify and Combine Files. Try to compress your CSS Code, it will make it’s size small and your browser can serve it much faster and resulting in faster page load times. The WP CSS plug-in works but this process can also be done with the W3 Total Cache plugin once again.
6) Optimize Your WordPress Database. Word Press databases get fragmented all the time. Optimizing Word-press databases will speed up your site. Optimizing the database of your site is very easy. Begine by logging into your hosting cpanel. Then use phpMyAdmin to optimize your all your databases. You should select all the tables, then repair and optimize.
7) Minify, Compress and Combine JavaScript. This a major reason for speed loss in my opinion by far! Try to reduce the Java Scripts as much as possible and the way they are served. Online tools or plugin but plug-in will reduce load times overall. You decide the trade off! I do both processes.
8 ) Remove Images and Reduce Image Sizes. Use Plug in or Yahoo SmushIt.com to shrink files. WP Smush.it plugin for WordPress and compress files before uploading to site is my suggestion. Your site will load faster! Check images, sometimes Smush.it can distort images but it usually works well.
9) Adding Header Expires. Adding an expiry time to static images will reduce further HTTP requests when loading other pages helping load the pages faster. This one I will update with diagram tomorrow.
10) Keep Your WordPress and Plug-ins Up To Date. WordPress keeps on improving on each update, making WordPress faster and better fro all of us. You need to upgrade to the latest version to enjoy the performance improvements and features. Also keep your plugins up to date!
11) Combining Javascripts and CSS Files. You can use PHP Speedy php speedy plugin but I use W3 Total Cache to cut down on scripts. Just make sure you combine all the Java Scripts into a single file and all css files into one! Not sure on how I feel about inline option so I leave it untouched.
12) Manage Cut down on Your 301 redirects. Cut down the number of 301 helps speed up blog as well. Make use of Canonical URLs for the pages. If you have a bunch of 301′s you may want to use URL removal tool and take out the 301. I decide witch one by traffic and back links of the page. Can be done via ht.access file or redirection plugin.
13) Clean House. Remove white spaces in code, Tidy up your Java Script files and Clean HTML by hand. Even before using a plugin to get even more website speed! Just make sure to check codes after cleaning for any errors or issues with the new code.
14) Make Use of CSS Sprites. It means combining all the images in the site into a single big image containing all of them. This means the browser loads the single big image and display the different images by using background position. Most good designs handle this one automatically! I use pagelines pro!
15) Block IP’s / Disable Hot Linking. Stealing your websites bandwidth is referred to as Hot linking. I recommend ever web site blog use hotlink protection to help save bandwidth. From CPanel you should be able to change this. You can also turn of trackbacks and pingbacks to save a little more. Hope this helps!

Google’s Friend Connect great new social media and social marketing tool. Looks like they made another good business move! Although not sure how heavy code will affect load time??? Here are a few points from Google about Friend Connect.

Here is how you can boost your Social Media Marketing on FB! The most important is to get 25 likes to your Facebook Business Pages to get a custom URL from Facebook! Make sure they like your page not your personal page. You can only change URL once so be sure you give it some thought.
