Is The Latest Google Update Killing your Site?

The latest Google updates are said to be designed to cut rankings for so called “low-quality” web sites or websites of low value adding value for users. Some examples are copied content, websites that are not very useful and sites with low quality links. Sounds a little vague! The update is said to provide better rankings for high quality websites with original content, informational sites, and research related web sites. I wonder how the analysis of sites by quality reviewers will affect things for SEO companies and non Adwords users.

Google States “they can’t make a major improvement without affecting rankings for many sites”. Many sites will go up and even more site rankings will go down! Just look at their search results, not the same or even any good! Google wants quality content and a lot of back-links. There is more going on than that, Links and content have been important for years. Anyway, these websites will most likely be rewarded with high rankings. Google has also confirmed that the new plus one social tool will affect rankings as well.

To start Google is launching this update or algorithm change only in the United States. They plan to roll the update out other places over the next few months. Just go to the Google Blog to keep posted about this update and other changes to the algorithm. If you hate the updates to Google’s search, then you are not alone. Just read the blog comments over at the Google Blog!

This update began in April and smaller changes keep getting rolled out. This algorithmic change is now out affecting all English-language Google users. Just like SEO’s will run test. Google will continue testing and refining the change to improve or stop them. Later, this update will affect most all additional languages.
